We started The Thirsty Brush (formerly Brush Paint and Sip) in 2011 as a collaborative project to make art making an experience everyone can share!
The genesis of The Thirsty Brush began as we backpacked through beautiful Northern Laos in the winter of 2001 and saw firsthand how blessed we were to live in a country of material abundance. We decided then we wanted to do more. But how could this be applied in a practical way that combines our talents?
Finally after a period of trial and error, with John's extesive experience as a teacher and artist, plus Connie's experience in business, we came up with The Thirsty Brush. And now The Thirsty Brush continues to be an expanded collaborative effort as seen in our Artist Bio's. We all believe how empowering the experience of art making can be!
After every Thirsty Brush class we take a group photo. And in that photo you'll see proud, smiling faces and beautiful pictures that surprise the people that make them. When children are exposed to a new way of being creative, it can open up a whole new world of joy and wonder. It's all about finding a creative spark!
So we invite you to create The Thirsty Brush along WITH us, one painting at a time!
